If you buy a game on the Nintendo WII Virtual console, do you get to keep it forever?

Do you get to keep your game Xenical Online forever, or is it eventually taken away after a certain period of time?

Not sure about forever. As long as you keep your Wii you can play the games you’ve bought. And I’ve called Nintendo personally and they told me that “they are planning on doing something that would let you transfer your Wii virtual console games to your Wii-U” if you should buy one. I sold any cartridge I owned if I could replace it with the same game on the virtual console. Until Nintendo really clarifies this question of permanent ownership and ability to always be able to play purchased virtual console games so long as you have a post-Wii Nintendo console, I am holding off on buying anymore virtual console games. I may even spend money I would otherwise spend on a new Wii-U on ebay and replace my virtual console games purchased thus far. Nintendo without prudent clarification is grinding faith in their company to total stand-still. Now, you can transfer your DSi games to your new 3DS. That’s a fact. So, hopefully, Nintendo does their loyal customers right and let’s us forever enjoy the virtual console games. I would even continue to pay a licensing fee but I’m pretty sure Nintendo owns the rights and only they can choose which path to follow. If they don’t do the customer right it could create a catastrophic backlash for Nintendo. Nintendo is on the defense right now as it is with the 3DS’s poor launch, prompt price drop, and recent announcment of a 2nd slider pad attachment. And probably eventual 3DS lite. Nintendo should have included this 2nd slider from the get-go. Either total lack of foresight or deliberate leverage over loyal customers who they know will “cough up” the cost for these machines as if to hold it’s loyal customers hostage. I am very passionate about this topic and am awaiting any new official word.
